What to Expect
Yin Yoga is an in-depth, transformative, stillness practice that attracts the more seasoned Vinyasa yoga practitioners and teachers that are looking to develop their yoga experience beyond dynamic and formulaic practices. However, it can be carefully learned and applicable for even the most beginner students of almost any age. Postures are held in stillness applying tension to the connective tissue of the body, for minutes at a time, and then relaxed to respond naturally to the traction in rebound periods of relaxation. Its results and benefits are remarkable.
For teachers, it offers broader and a more experienced option for their teaching journey, which can be developed for transformative group classes and trainings and private 1-2-1 therapeutic applications.
On a more personal level the Yin practice, balances any Yang dynamic practice, offers a bridge into conditioning the body for meaningful meditation and provides a portal into burgeoning inner work exploration.
The building blocks for learning to practice and teach Yin Yoga with skill and confidence require deep experience. As such misapplication of the Yin practice can be ineffective and at worst injurious. Therefore, it is important that Yin is taught in with intelligence, organisation, thoroughness and with a tried and tested Functional Method of Teaching.
This introduction course is founded on the modelled, learning processes of Yin pioneers Paul and Suzee Grilley. The course is presented with a fully trained and experienced teacher from their lineage in Jamie Clarke. Being trained by Jamie in the Paul and Suzee Grilley lineage of Yin Yoga students will ensure learning practitioners and teachers to be trained to the highest of standards.
